Hill County Courthouse:
Great example of a "historical" building that must be preserved, yet made secure. Discreet devices were used and the result was exceptional for all.

 Hillsboro, Texas
IMAGE During a special session of the Hill County Commissioners Court on August 23, 1853 a parcel of land near the center of the county was donated to form the county seat. The county seat was originally called Hillsborough but the town's name was changed to Hillsboro in 1854 when the Post Office declared names ending in “borough” should be changed to “boro”. The courthouse itself was constructed in 1890.

First Floor Entrance
IMAGE First consideration in design was "discreet." The camera locations had to be effective, yet not obvious visually. Click image to view "as seen by the camera."

District  Court
IMAGE Covered by two cameras, one Pan/Tilt/Zoom to view Attorney/Witness area and another behind the bench to view balcony; this setup gives great coverage. Note: audio as well as video is being recorded. Click image to view "as seen by the camera."

Stairways
IMAGE All three floors, at each entrance, are well covered. Entrance to any floor or corridor is recorded on digital video recorders. Click image to view "as seen by the camera."

3rd Floor Hallway
IMAGE This area presents a unique surveillance challenge; narrow halls, closed ends, longest distance to security offices. Overlapping cameras, along with staircase cameras record any entrance or exit from this floor. Click image to view "as seen by the camera."
